Round brilliant cut diamonds make up the vast majority of diamond found in engagement rings. These
diamonds are also popular as stud earrings and in pendants. This shape has set the standard
for all other diamond shapes, and accounts for more than 75% of diamonds sold today.

The round brilliant cut is the modern version of the round which has been refined for maximum shine.
These stones are by far the most popular and has the best angles to shine maximum brilliance.

There are 58 facets in a round brilliant cut including the culet. One the crown, or upper part of the
diamond, the facets consist of one table facet, eight bezel facets, eight star facets, and
sixteen upper girdle facets for a total of thirty three. On the pavillion,
or bottom of the diamond, there are sixteen lower girdle facets,
eight pavillion main facets and one culet. If the pavillion
comes to a point at the bottom, the
diamond does not have a culet.
