Pearls are popular pieces especially during occasions such as weddings, graduations, birthdays, even anniversaries.

Pearls and other beads are susceptible to breaks due to being generally strung on a fine cord. Here at
Blackwell's Jewelers we hand string all beads and pearls. For the nicer, expensive pieces, we
recommend going with a knotted strand. The knots in between each pearl or bead keeps
them from rubbing against each other, scratching the nacre and altering the overall
shape of the pearl or bead. Knots will also help prevent the loss of any pearl
or beads in the occasion the strand should break.

Remember to store your strands on a flat surface. Hanging of strands results in
unecessary stretching which eventually leads to breaking.
